No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor in the world by quite a few of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover whatever he could about the game. Phil would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse comments from other people destroy his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a learning opportunity and winning was not a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is quite abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
