No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandfather introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about poker. He routinely told his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from other people kill his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

He started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an eternal passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his success. Phil admits to making blunders in each game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Although Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
